Hardin Happy Hustlers

The monthly meeting of the Hardin Happy Hustlers was held on May 7 at the Extension office. There were 15 members present.

Old business was to discuss a day to work on a group project in June.  No definite plans were set. The club has been looking into the possibility of helping erect a basketball court at the fairgrounds for people to enjoy. There are several obstacles that would need to addressed in order to do that.  Other improvements at the fairgrounds that the club can help with are being researched.

Livestock registrations are due by May 15.  This can be done online.

Presentations were given by Trey Schilling, “Baseball”; Patrick Graham, “NFL Player, LaGarrette Blount”; Tieryn Tucker, “How to make Puppy Chow”; Gabe Ebersole, “How to make a fidget spinner”; Caden Telleen, “German Short Haired Pointers”; Eliot Schilling, “How to Make Slime” and Jack Schilling, “Type 1 Diabetes”.

After the meeting the club did its semi-annual ditch pick up along Highway 4 followed by treats at Dairy Queen.

The monthly meeting of the Hardin Happy Hustlers was held on June 4 at the Extension Office. There were 10 members present.

Fair entries are due by June 15. The club voted to participate in Extravaganza at the fair this year. Home State Bank has once again donated shirts for 4-H members for the fair.  These can be picked up at the Extension office.

Registration for Communication Day has been extended until June 8.  Communication Day will be held on June 13.

Upcoming dates at the fair were discussed.  Fair clean up and set up is Sunday, July 9, at 1 pm. Our club is assigned the beef barn. Show up in work clothes and bring rakes, shovels, brooms and gloves. Judging at Clover Hall is Tuesday, July 11.  Our club is scheduled at 10 am.  The Hardin Happy Hustlers are scheduled to work in the Clover Hall on Thursday morning and Clover Café on Friday morning.  Leader Kathy Marshall will email a schedule out shortly. It is important that everyone show up to work at their scheduled time. The premium auction will be held on Monday, July 17, at 8:30.  It’s important that members help with clean up after the auction.

There was a discussion of ideas for decorating our club’s booth at the fair. This year’s Fair theme is “Start Your future Here.” Members were asked to be part of a committee to meet a few weeks before the fair to plan our booth.

Presentations were given by Carson Cervany, “How to Plant a Tree” and Violet Reedy, “Hair Sheep”.

Snacks were provided by Gavin Vander Linden and Kaiden Burbank.
